Learning By H.E.A.R.T

HEART stands for Happiness/Health-Empathy-Attention-Reading-Time. I read Laura Gibbs article called "When Your Brain Doesn't Sleep".

This article was all about the effects of sleep deprivation. The effects are:

  • Loss of Memories: Scientists believe when we sleep our mind replays repetitive patterns while we sleep to help information stick. So lack of sleep causes long term memory loss.
  • Anger: Sleep loss makes us focus on negative experiences, misinterpret facial expressions and pick fights.
  • Hallucinations: A well-rested brain filters noise, light, and smell to separate what matters from what doesn't. When the brain is unable filter the information coming in, it results in chaos.
There are many more effects of sleep deprivation on your health, the longer you are sleep deprived the more serious the effects become.
