Week 8 Progress

I am happy with my progress so far. I am a few points behind due to missing a reading in the first few weeks and then I hadn't correctly done the declarations for comments. I discovered this a few weeks back when I had 132 points out of 150 points, II was confused so I looked back and saw I hadn't done declarations correctly.

I did extra credit the following week for 6 points and I intend to do extra credit again to get the points that I missed. 

I find blogging about what we read and do very useful. I am in a way forced to do something within the deadline and because the days are always the same (bar this week) I have got into a routine.

I dread weekends because I leave it all until Sunday and I end up ruining my evening, but I enjoy working on my project and reading other peoples blogs. I do dread having to comments on other peoples blogs I always struggle to meet the word count. I also feel really fake and I'm just kind of saying the same thing to everyone.

I also find the readings a chore to do, but sometimes they surprise me and I'm actually interested but usually I kind of get bored after one reading and force myself to read more.

For the second half of the semester I will try get the comments done early in the week or even on the Friday and not leave them till last on a Sunday because after I do the other stuff I always just want to sleep but I have to comment. So for the sake of getting more sleep I hope to spread out the weekend blogs.

This week our meeting with Shaun went well. For Thursday we will have our full functioning game. This week I've been watching videos on Animate CC just to get to grips on how the software works and how to use it. Video for simple animation Only half of this video was actually needed as the designs for the game have already been done. I started to watch a video where the game was made using html5 and java script which I thought could be cool because we already have some knowledge on HTML and JavaScript but as we are making a game for an iPad theres was no point in continuing his tutorials. Plus his voice was hard to follow and he wasn't the best at explaining what he was doing or why.                                        I am currently behind this week so I will be very busy on the game in the next two days to get it finished for Thursday.

MD2Final GDD

This week Nhu Thai and I met up on Wednesday and discussed what we need to do and how we would evenly share out the work. We decided that Nhu would do the Main Menu, the setting page, level page and level 1 and I will be doing levels 2-6. We explored colours for the main menu page using adobe colour. We decided on yellow, blue, red and brown. We wanted use bright colours to engage the users attention. Nhu and I weren't sure how to share our files between Animate CC. We decided to try just sending the file to one another and copy and pasting it into one of the projects. That worked so we we were delighted to know we could easily transfer files. We were given the illustrations this week and are working on implementing them into the levels. We also looked at fonts. We wanted something fun and childlike but it still needs to be readable. Unity Tutorial 01

UNITY TUTORIAL 01 Welcome back to my Blog, In this blog I will discuss my thoughts on my first Unity Tutorial by Jimmy Vegas. I had never used Unity before. It is a very similar layout to Blender so I didn't find the controls as difficult to get the hang of as I did when I first used Blender. I think it's easier to use than Blender, everything is more accessible and there doesn't seem to be as many hidden menus. Though I'm sure when we start doing more complex things on Unity it will be just as difficult as Blender.  Jimmy Vegas was very clear and his tutorial was very easy to follow along with, he explained everything he did really well but didn't dwell on anything for too long. I stayed engaged and didn't get bored, which I often do. It's a really cool software, Although I do like how we were just given packs to download but I would be very interested to learn how to make a tree and different terrains and textures by myself.
